Jay Buckley Tours

This is my brochure for Jay Buckley's Baseball tours. I changed the front page from a dye cut to just an normal front cover. I ended up changing it because it wasn't the look I wanted, and wasn't coming out as clean as I hoped.

  1. I really like the changes you made to the brochure it looks great and the mailer for it is really interesting with the image next to it. The lines are a great way of unifying each page and provide a consistent theme through out the brochure. I really like it great job!

  2. I love how this came out! I have two things: first on page 2 is there suppose to be a thin stroke next to the white line going down the middle into the bleacher image? almost like a grid line. Two: on page 6 "Torrey Pines Beach" gets lost in the background so I would probably just move it the right corner somewhere near the shore so that it gives it some contrast. But overall this is awesome.

  3. Kristen - this is looking almost done. I think just a few tweaks and you are there!

    1. Please look at pages 6/7. The vertical white line comes down with a healthy amount of space between it and the gutter between the pages. This is really where all white lines should come down… that far away from the gutter or page edge. It looks more intentional, and if it is too close to the gutter, it actually will look like a printing mistake. So please move this descending line away from edges and gutter - in somewhat of a consistent way if possible.

    2. Page 2/3 - the horizontal lines are almost in alignment… so why not actually align them? The blurb on page 3 could and should fall lower on the page and wrap around the photo. The layout seems to be leaving a space in the lower right of page 3 for just that purpose…. so pull the text down on page 3 to be more in alignment with page 2, and allow the text to wrap around the image in that space.

    3. So, because of the lightness of the heading font, there are some readable issues. Please move Guided Tour of SF down to sit above the body copy on the flat color. Also, the captions (Balboa Park, and Torrey Pines City Beach) are not easy to read. Try using the font for body copy, only bold it? Or… move the type into a more calm area on the page).

    4. The bottom edges of the text blocks on 5/6 should align with each other, because they almost already do. So pull up the text on 6 so that Lombard Street aligns with last baseline on page 6.

    4. Please print this in b/w for me to proof next class… I see some needed changes.

    Nice project!
