Down Syndrome PSA

  1. Josue - The image and colors make this a really interesting, and lovely design. Here are some suggestions concerning the typography:

    1. You have reserved the bottom left area of this design for the heading. Good. Now… please return to the positions and size of the words. Currently the word “in” is hugging the top “Look” and so it is separating the heading into 2 parts - an upper section and a lower section. Just like even kerning, we need even negative space between these words as they descend the page. I would suggest you enlarge the top word even more to really emphasize “Look”… because so many people try not to look at these people.

    2. The text in the right hand size could sit within a more narrow column than the heading (you have divided the page in half, but you don’t have to… the columns do not have to be equal sizes… and in this case they shouldn’t be. If that right hand column becomes more narrow, it will help you pull that subheading, body text, and end sentence closer to each other and allow us to read it more smoothly.

I’m thinking that the subheading could be broken in this way, to help us understand the meaning:

    Can you tell
    who I am
    going to be?

and the last sentence could be (notice the capitalization):

    Appearance
    does NOT equate
    to !ntelligence

    3. I find the white logo to be a bit large for the page… it is white, so we will always see it. Consider reducing it and rethinking the centered alignment of the Mission statement so those 2 elements move closer together as they should be, they belong together.

    4. Lastly - I just noticed that you need to capitalize the word “Syndrome” in the body copy first line, and add the word “many” before the word “participate”.
